Ranked #5 in the

Inclusive Top 50

UK Employers

Moneysupermarket Group received the #5 ranking within The Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers list for 2023/24, and we’re absolutely thrilled.

15 December 2023

Now in its 8th year, the Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers List displays a collection of the most inclusive employers operating across the UK, shining a light on best practice for inclusion across all strands of diversity including Age, Disability, Gender, LGBT, Race, Faith & Religion.

This news gives us the perfect opportunity to reflect on the past year and just some of what’s helped us climb the rankings to become an even more inclusive organisation.

Our first ever technology apprenticeship scheme resulted in four female hires. This year our women in tech employee resource group partnered with InnovateHer. They focus on getting girls ready for the tech industry.

We’ve also officially partnered with The Phoenix Academy in White City London. So far, we’ve supported them in their careers event, and we’ve held a welcome assembly to introduce them to Moneysupermarket Group and InnovateHer.

Our MoneySavingExpert (MSE) colleagues leant their support by creating video content with key life skills such as why credit scores are important and how to open a bank account, and practical skills that can support them now and when they then enter adulthood.

As a Group we were also proud to sponsor the diversity equity and inclusion changemaker programme for individual change makers or organisations that don’t have dedicated budgets or resources. This black female entrepreneur-led initiative grew from relationships built at Black Business Week 2022. The event saw 50 participants attend the launch at our Dean Street office in November where an expert panel discussed intersectionality and social mobility as well as the role of employers in making societal change.

We partnered with weareblackjournos in our search for two interns for MSE, hosting an event at our offices. Twenty plus people attended the event and Martin Lewis inspired the group with his insights and advice.

We couldn’t have achieved the number five ranking without our ERGs (Employee Resource Groups). In partnership with the #represent ERG, we launched our Transgender and Gender Nonconforming guidelines in July. The executive team took part in a candid training discussion to help support the launch of these guidelines into the group.

In August Moneysupermarket Group and Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) proudly joined forces to celebrate love, unity and diversity in the Manchester Pride parade 2023, themed ‘Queerly Beloved’. Manchester’s streets came alive with the message that love, in all its forms, is truly something to be celebrated.

Our reward team ran the ‘Big MONY Workshop’ in June. This initiative gave colleagues time back during their working day to live our purpose and save their own households money. Seminars and focus groups on personal financial wellbeing were run by external providers as well as our MSE colleagues. People shared their money-saving stories throughout the event, highlighting how much they’d saved across the period - through using our tools, consolidating pensions, or simply getting around to cancelling unneeded subscriptions.

Our average engagement score in the year was 64% and the favourable response to the sentence ‘I would recommend us as a great place to work’ came to at 76% in November. We also had a fantastic 81% favourable response to ‘People from all backgrounds have equal opportunities to succeed here’.

We were recognised in the 2023 FTSE women leaders review as #1 for women on boards in the technology sector and commended for being in the FTSE250 top ten best performers overall for four years in a row.

But we won’t stop here. We’ll build on the initiatives we’ve put in place and the DEI strategy that’s guiding us forward, so that we can continue to make more progress and partner with organisations who we can support and experts who can support us.

Thanks to everyone who’s had a part to play!
